Gene Gill, his nephew Duke Gill, and Natalie Bailey Keefe toured Eastern Europe for 3 weeks in July 2010. Their stops included Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, and Prague. After Warsaw, the rest of the tour was by bus. During the drive from Warsaw to Krakow, we stopped in Czestochowa to see the famous icon of the "Black Madonna", and then a stop to walk through the infamous Auschwitz. We arrived in Krakow, just in time for dinner. During WW2, Krakow was totally untouched. Thus everything is old and quite beautiful. The tour company made a change in our tour and cut our stay in Krakow by one day and we spent this day/night in the resort town of Zakopane (Wasn't too thrilled about that). |
