Update on
Nora Boone.
Bob Boone writes: "Nora
had the operation today and she is out of recovery and in the ICU.
The surgeon said she really didn’t need the ICU but felt the additional
monitoring there would be prudent. She is resting and all vitals are
OK. Hopefully the “leak” is corrected! Her breathing is better
and she sounds better too".

Bob Boone.
"A week
ago last Saturday Nora had a
bad cough and about 2:00pm she got some severe pain after a cough and I
took her to the ER. X-ray showed a collapsed lung and they
installed a tube to re-inflate it. That tube gave problems and a
second tube went in but every time they removed the suction, the lung
started to deflate again. Today the 3 or 4 lung Doctors had a conference
call and the senior surgeon came in, looked at things fiddled with the
tube and announced that surgery was necessary and wanted to do it tomorrow
but due to Nora being on blood thinners, they will have to wait until
sufficient vitamin K has been given to suppress the Coumadin! I
assume surgery could happen Tuesday. There is an element of risk but
it has to be done before she gets any weaker!!! "

Winford reports that "...23 were present at last night's
Get-together" and that "Joyce had her first of six Chemo treatments last
Wednesday. So far she has had no side effects and is feeling good".
Joyce's photos are now posted on the Get-together section of the website.

Update on Glenn
Lockhart.
Glenn is scheduled to have minor out-patient surgery
(Balloon Kyphoplasty) this Wednesday. It is hoped that surgery will
stop the awful pain he's been having in his back.

Winford.
"Today
we visited the oncologist and learned that Joyce will need to have chemo
treatment which is supposed to reduce recurrence chances from 28% to 10%.
The type of chemo is CMF. Joyce will have 6 treatments or one every three
weeks. This will be done at West Clinic which is near to us. No porta-cath
will be required. He said it might cause hair thinning but not complete
hair loss. Test showed negative for need to take anti estrogen pills which
would have been for the next five years. We prayed the doctor would have
the wisdom to do whatever is best for total healing and we believe this is
necessary. Thank you for all your prayers, cards and concern. Please pray
that Joyce will be able to tolerate the chemo."
